Strategic Objectives |
|
The strategic objectives of PCWBQA have been crafted as the path to support and fulfill the mission and vision statements of the Region. The strategy will periodically be reviewed and revised as deemed necessary by the Executive Committee. Mission To bring together young people from multiple denominations to fellowship with one another and engage in the Word of God through Bible Quizzing. Vision To instill in youth a love and passion for God and His Word through Bible Quizzing. Objectives · To develop cross denominational quiz participation in World Bible Quiz tournaments This objective will be supported by the Executive Committee by visiting various quiz tournaments and utilizing multiple networking and communication opportunities throughout the Region. Members of the Executive Committee are responsible for the promotion of WBQA in their denomination specific quiz programs and are encouraged to visit tournaments of other denominations as well. · To facilitate three World Bible quizzes per year (October, March, and May) In the 2007-2008 quiz season three tournaments were held. The team attendance ranged from seven to twelve teams. In the final tournament of the year five different denominations were represented! For the 2008-2009 quiz season three tournaments will be held on the following dates: October 25, 2008, March 14, 2009, and May 16, 2009. Locations for these events have not yet been secured. If you are interested in volunteering to support this strategic objective, please contact us at pcwbqa@gmail.com · To establish an Executive Committee comprised of members committed to the development of the Pacific Coast World Bible Quiz Region In support of this objective an Executive Committee has been formed. Recruitment is still underway to complete the Executive Committee. Click here to see the current Committee members. The current Executive Committee is comprised of representatives from various denominations in Washington. At the end of the 2008-2009 quiz season, the goal is to transition the current committee as the Washington Committee. This will allow those members to focus their energy on the advancement of WBQA in Washington and ultimately furthering the vision and mission statements of the Region. Each Committee member term will be two years and no one member will serve in the same position for more than three consecutive terms. Throughout the coming years, this objective will be advanced through the creation of a Committee for each of the seven states in the Pacific Coast Region. During the 2008-2009 quiz season we will be working toward building the Oregon Committee, so if you are from Oregon and are interested in participating in a leadership role with PCWBQA, please contact us at pcwbqa@gmail.com. Additional details will be provided upon request. Each Committee will be comprised of a denominational representative. This will help ensure the accomplishment of the mission statement and the dissemination of information to quiz programs across each state. As previously noted, each State Committee will be lead by a representative that will sit on the Executive Committee. The target completion date for creation and full functionality of the seven State Committees is 2018. The Executive Committee will be developed throughout that time, but will remain functional throughout its development.
